Thomas Isaac

Thomas Isaac, MD, MBA, MPH, is the Medical Director of Quality and practicing primary care physician (board certified in Internal Medicine) at Atrius Health and is an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His duties at Atrius Health center on quality measurement and improvement within our health care delivery organization across multiple practice sites. In this role, he is the primary leader for the development and executive of Atrius Health tactics to improve clinical quality and oversee Quality Improvement council meetings and lead the clinical, operational, and Epic EHR IT teams to improve clinical quality. He has also been the Site Principal Investigator of several trials, including the STIC2IT trial. He has also served as the site principal investigator on other grants by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on measuring overuse of healthcare using Choosing Wisely guidelines and an NIH randomized trial of patient financial incentives to reduce cardiovascular risk (Way to Heart Health). Finally, Thomas has worked closely on other projects within electronic health records, such as projects around reducing inappropriate prescribing of opioids in ambulatory care using clinical pharmacist care and Choosing wisely guidelines.
