Julie Lauffenburger, PharmD, PhD
Julie Lauffenburger, PharmD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a practicing pharmacist at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is the Associate Director of the Center for Healthcare Delivery Sciences.
Her research focuses on improving medication use, adherence, and healthcare delivery in patients with common chronic diseases, particularly through the development and evaluation of patient-oriented behavioral interventions. She has extensive experience and publications using methods including pragmatic trials, predictive analytics and observational study designs in large healthcare databases. She is a Principal Investigator of research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute for Health Care Management. She completed her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Pharm.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
